Well folks here we are, another Valentine’s Day. February 14th, another day when we get to hear our wives tell us how imperfect we are, and just how much we’ve done wrong.. I know my wife says that we shouldn’t wait for Valentine’s Day to tell our loved ones how much we care about them and this would be her bah-humbug day because of that. I don’t know about you, but it sure is nice to hear that I do not do enough throughout the year to show my love, and to be held to a standard that does not apply to the opposite sex.
Let’s take Christmas for example: every year I get my wife something, be it little or big.. Every year I tell her that it’s okay she did not get me anything because I am just happy to be with her.. Or let’s take our anniversary for another example.. I was working my ass off in another state a thousand miles away so I could provide for my family.. Working 80 hours a week, and yet I still had the time to send her flowers and a card (it even ended up being 2 bouquets, 2 boxes of chocolates, and 2 cards).. I don’t know where the return was on that investment, but I did it because I love her…
There is only so much a Man can do to tell his wife he loves her.. I have made a lot of mistakes, and at times I have been a bad husband, granted. However big my mistakes were the fact remains that I still love my wife and have tried since day one to show it. So I honor this day with the fact that no matter what I do, no matter how much I love, this day is reserved for women to tell their men how little they are appreciated!
